Directions to my workshop:
Düren / Echtz is a small village on the western edge of the plain of Cologne. This is where I have my workshop.
The Eifel hills are only a stone’s throw away and offer lovely woods for walking and rambling.
Cologne and Aachen (Aix-la-Chapelle) are both half an hour away and offer a rich cultural life. Both towns have their own flair and attractions.
Arrival by car
From the north:
Take the A1 motorway southwards to Cologne, then turn off onto the ringroad at Köln-West onto the A4 in the direction of Aachen. After 35 km you reach the Düren exit.

After the exit turn off left towards Düren, then right at the next big crossroads (in front of Burger King). Take a right turn at the next traffic lights towards Echtz. Drive into Hoven and again follow the sign to Echtz (2nd exit from roundabout). On passing the sign for the village of Echtz turn first left (Zur Lohe), then first right into Lourdesstrasse.
From the south:
Take the A3 motorway northwards to Cologne. At the junction called “Dreieck Heumar“ take care to follow the exit to Aachen. Follow the A4 motorway for about 50 km until you reach the Düren exit. See above.

From the east:
Take the A4 motorway to the junction “Köln-Ost”, then follow signs to Bonn/ Frankfurt until you reach the junction called “Dreieck Heumar”. Continue on the A4 towards Aachen, and after about 50 km take the Düren exit. See above.

From the west:
From Brussels you drive in the direction of Lüttich/Liège on the A3 motorway towards Aachen / Aken. After crossing the border into Germany follow signs to Cologne (A4 motorway). After about 25 km you reach the Düren exit. See above.

Düren is on the main line half-way between Cologne and Aachen
